Plate28 & Your Skin
How Whole Body Vibration (WBV) at Plate28 Keeps Our Skin In Shape
Because of the rapid frequency of vibration delivered to the body when doing WBV training at Plate28, our muscles begin to contract much faster than if we were just to stand on stable ground. This does a couple of things for our skin in particular:
It stimulates something called Growth Hormone to be released within the body - which in turn helps to build "skin thickness".
Because the muscles are contracting so quickly when on a Power Plate, they are helping to pump oxygenated blood throughout our body and reaching the smaller capillaries in our skin at a much faster rate.
Because our skin is able to receive more nutrients through the increased blood flow, it can then produce & utilize more collagen - a protein responsible for keeping your skin strong and supple.
Why Boosting Circulation Is Good For Your Skin
Consider your circulatory system as the "river of life" that flows through your body. It carries vital nutrients, hormones and other chemicals that our organs and cells need to function their best. And on the flipside, our bloodstream is also in charge of carrying away metabolic wastes, toxins and pathogens that need to be eliminated by the body. Therefore, good circulation to the skin plays an important role in both nourishment and detoxification.
Beyond Skin Deep
Our skin is the largest organ in our body. Because of this, it has a lot of jobs to do.
Here at Plate28, we pride ourselves on making sure to utilize the WBV technology to enhance your skin health just as much as your fitness. Not only are you getting vibrations traveling into your body during your workout - but we make sure to further incorporate skin and lymphatic health into your day by offering a massage on your plate at the end of the class. Yes, I said massage! Does it get any better than that?
Fun Fact: Many of our clients say that they get an "itchy" sensation after the massage. This is actually a good thing! That means the top layer of your skin is getting extra circulation.
